Ms. Sheikh received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin.
She holds a master’s degree from Indiana University in Social Work.
Ms. Sheikh specializes in trauma, depression, and psychological evaluations. She has worked with DCS (Department of Child Services), in hospitals, and in community mental health centers. Ms. Sheikh is certified in TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and is a certified EMDR therapist. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a state of the art neuroprocessing technique for trauma, endorsed by the World Health Organization and the Department of Defense.
Ms. Sheikh also holds a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute in Massachusetts. In 2017, she was accepted into a three year training program to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. She is a full member of EMDRIA (EMDR International Association), NASW (National Association for Social Workers), and ISSTD (International Society for the Study of Traumatic Stress).
When she’s not at work, she loves reading, hanging out with her son, and completing the items on her bucket list.
