Ms. Emily Milnes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Indiana University and also has a master’s degree in social work from Indiana University-Indianapolis. Ms. Milnes approaches therapy with client-centered, solution-focused interventions. She is passionate about creating a safe space for others to process trauma, overcome adversity, and create positive change.
Ms. Milnes has experience working with children, families, and individuals as an agent of support and guidance. Her experience includes having studied many modalities to bring healing to those in need. These modalities include Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. and Play Therapy. She has also studied Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Trust Based Relational Intervention Strategies (TBRI). Ms. Milnes has experience with working in the areas of childhood trauma, crisis intervention, stress, anxiety, depression, addictions, and grief/loss.
Ms. Milnes recently completed our licensure training program, and is in the process of completing credentialing with our insurance companies. She is fully licensed, but will continue to be under the supervision of senior staff member Leslie Ruiz, LCSW, through the summer of 2024, until her credentialing is completed.
In her spare time, Ms. Milnes enjoys painting, traveling, and also spending time with her family and friends.
